ABOUT US

They say “God never wastes our pain” and that is exactly how Mary’s Place came into existence.
Walking the journey of a caregiver since 2015, to my in-laws first (who died of dementia), my dad (who died of ALS), my husband (who suffers an ongoing complex neurodegenerative disease), and alongside my best friend, Mary, (who died of colon cancer in 2024 after a valiant 5 year fight), my heart understands the needs of a weary caregiver - both the grief AND the joys of the journey.
Mary was someone who, no matter what she was going through, always cared about you. She brought light and joy in the Cancer Treatment Center with her songs, prayer books, and birdhouses. This place is a legacy for her memory and a way to let my journey help light the way for others.
I could never have made it though, nor continue to make it through, without my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior. This place is a testament to His steadfast love and His goodness even in the most difficult up-hill struggles. Because He is the one and only true God, as evidenced on Mt Carmel in the Bible, and in my life, this place exists.
Come, all you weary - come and find rest, renewal, reflection, and then return to your life to serve - a little fuller and a little brighter. One thing is necessary - come and find it at Mary’s Place.

Luke 10:41-42

Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things, but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.
